Singapore’s ‘Travel Beyond the Algorithm’ Campaign Set to Redefine Tourism in 2026

The Mt. Samat National Shrine in Pilar, Bataan, is set to undergo a significant transformation with the construction of a new visitors complex. This project, which is spearheaded by the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), aims to enhance tourism services while stimulating local economic activity. The new complex will create opportunities for job growth, strengthen local enterprises, and offer a more enriching experience for both local and international visitors. The new visitors complex at Mt. Samat is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to boost tourism and preserve the national heritage. Through the Mt. Samat Flagship Tourism Enterprise Zone (FTEZ), TIEZA is set to build a robust infrastructure designed to accommodate increasing numbers of tourists while improving visitor services at one of the Philippines’ most revered historical landmarks. The development will include three key facilities: the Tourist Assistance Center, Visitors Center, and a Multipurpose Administration Building. The project is expected to attract more visitors and further stimulate the local economy. Governor Jose Enrique Garcia III emphasized the direct benefits the complex will bring to the local communities. This includes providing employment opportunities and supporting small businesses around the area. The Governor stated that the project would not only preserve the historical importance of Mt. Samat but also ensure that it remains relevant to present-day audiences while benefiting the surrounding communities.
