Vietnam Airlines Sees Steady Travel Demand During Reunification and Labor Day Holidays

Vietnam Airlines is gearing up for one of Vietnam’s busiest travel windows. The carrier plans a strong push on both domestic and international flights as demand holds firm over the Reunification Day and International Labor Day holidays. The strategy keeps capacity high, supports stable fares, and makes holiday travel smoother for locals and visitors. Vietnam’s Reunification Day on April 30 and International Labor Day on May 1 create a rare multi‑day break. Many residents add a day or two of annual leave. Families travel home. Others head for beaches, mountains, or quick city breaks. Demand in this period stays consistently high each year. It does not show signs of weakening. That stability encourages Vietnam Airlines to grow its schedule instead of cutting back. The airline treats the April–May holiday stretch as a key travel season, similar in importance to Tet or summer. Vietnam Airlines capacity surge for 2026 holidays For the 2026 peak around the Hùng Kings’ Commemoration Day and the Reunification and Labor Day break, Vietnam Airlines Group plans a major capacity boost. The group, which includes Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, and VASCO, targets nearly 1.12 million seats across domestic and international routes in this holiday window.
