Indian Railways Launches Summer Special Trains for Bihar

As the seasonal temperatures rise and the annual vacation period commences, a significant surge in passenger traffic is traditionally observed across the Indian subcontinent. To address this mounting demand, Indian Railways has proactively initiated the operations of three summer special trains. These services are strategically designed to provide much-needed relief to the holiday rush, particularly for travelers commuting to and from Bihar. By integrating these additional services into the existing network, the national carrier aims to streamline the movement of passengers between northern hubs like New Delhi and southern tech centers such as Bengaluru. The logistical challenges posed by the summer months are multifaceted, involving a diverse demographic ranging from students returning home to families embarking on vacations. Consequently, the special trains have been scheduled to bridge the gap in seat availability on high-demand corridors. The initiative is overseen by the relevant railway zones to ensure that the influx of travelers does not lead to excessive congestion at major terminals. Through this expanded capacity, a more organized and comfortable transit experience is facilitated for the general public during this peak period. One of the primary additions to the seasonal roster is the special service established between the national capital and North Bihar. This particular route is recognized as one of the most heavily traversed corridors during the summer months. To accommodate the high volume of commuters, the New Delhi to Supaul special train was inaugurated on April 17, 2026. This service is intended to operate on a daily basis, ensuring a consistent flow of transit options for those traveling toward the eastern regions of the country.
