Hong Kong Showcases 70 Years of Travel Identity Through Immersive Design Exhibition

A powerful new chapter in global tourism storytelling has opened in Hong Kong, where the Hong Kong Design Centre has launched a landmark exhibition that reframes how destinations attract travelers. Titled From Memory To Horizon The Visual Language Of Hong Kong Tourism, the exhibition transforms decades of creative history into a compelling tourism narrative designed to reignite global travel interest. Hosted at the DX design hub in Sham Shui Po, the showcase places travel inspiration, cultural identity, and destination branding at the forefront, presenting tourism not just as movement but as an emotional and visual journey shaped by design. Running from April through early July, the exhibition invites visitors to explore how tourism promotion evolved long before digital platforms existed, relying on artistic vision, typography, and storytelling to spark curiosity about Hong Kong. The carefully curated experience demonstrates how travel desire was once built through hand-drawn posters, cinematic imagery, and bold visual campaigns, many of which were supported by public cultural initiatives aligned with the Government of Hong Kong.
