New York Leads US Tourism with 9 Million International Visitors
New York had an estimated 9 million plus international tourists in 2025. Strong demand for travel and the Big Apple’s iconic attraction brought these visitors. New York State continues to be one of the biggest international tourism destinations in the United States. With foreign travel demand slowing globally New York State is projecting to welcome over 9 million international tourists in 2025. This is 26.5% of the international travel to the USA for that year. New York’s appeal is evident and 2025 draws over 9 million international tourists. These attractive cities and with world-renowned iconic landmarks combined with strong international airways draw tourists worldwide.
However, the latest tourism data also reveals that the recovery of international travel across the United States remains uneven. While travel-related spending has returned close to pre-pandemic levels in value terms, inflation-adjusted spending and overseas visitor numbers are still struggling to fully match the record levels seen before 2019.
