England destinations collectively were around level with the previous year during June. The momentum did not disappear immediately: VisitBritain’s newer July update says Italy remained among the short-haul markets delivering double-digit growth, while short-haul searches overall increased 23%. Italy therefore leads this comparison by growth momentum, not necessarily by absolute visitor numbers.
