Vietnam’s Lao Cai launches 2026 growth drive to boost tourism, attract investment and accelerate economic transformation.
Vietnam’s Lao Cai province has rolled out an ambitious economic growth plan for 2026 with the focus on tourism, investment attraction, expansion of production and achieving higher economic growth rates as the province’s new development strategy. Having recorded good economic growth in the first half of the year, Lao Cai is now targeting the removal of barriers to, and the acceleration of, the implementation of major economic development projects to tap into new areas of growth and potential. Tourism, industry, trade, agriculture, and investment will be the primary drivers of economic growth in the region as it strives to post a GRDP (Gross Regional Domestic Product) growth of over 10% during the year.
