Japan Airlines Group continues to modernise ground activities by adding an automated, robotic aircraft cleaning system at Narita Airport. The technology will begin full operational deployment in 2026 after employees complete a specialised training programme. The introduction marks a significant milestone for Japan’s aviation industry, as it becomes the first domestic airline deployment of a collaborative aircraft washing robot equipped with aircraft-specific automated positioning functions and advanced multi-axis control, according to JAL’s internal research.
