India Adds Vande Bharat Link Between Surat and Udaipur

India has unveiled a powerful new Vande Bharat Express link between Surat in Gujarat and Udaipur in Rajasthan, giving travellers a faster and more comfortable way to move between the two cities six days a week. The eight-coach premium train will strengthen connectivity for tourists, business passengers and families travelling from southern and central Gujarat towards Rajasthan. By extending the earlier Udaipur City–Asarva service to Surat, the new arrangement will expand the route’s reach while supporting regional tourism, commercial movement and growing festive travel demand between Gujarat’s diamond and textile centre and Rajasthan’s celebrated Lake City. Surat is set to receive its first Vande Bharat Express after India’s Ministry of Railways approved a premium rail connection between Surat in Gujarat and Udaipur in Rajasthan. The eight-coach train will operate six days a week, giving tourists, business travellers and local passengers a faster link between southern Gujarat and Rajasthan. The service will extend the existing Udaipur City–Asarva corridor to Surat, expanding its reach while replacing the earlier operation between Udaipur and Asarva. Once introduced, it will become Gujarat’s sixth Vande Bharat Express and strengthen rail travel between two commercially and culturally important regions.
