Sikkim Trains 34 Youths as Adventure and Mountain Guides in Tourism Push

Sikkim boosts tourism as 34 youths complete mountain guide training, creating skilled adventure leaders for Himalayan travel growth. Sikkim is promoting its tourism industry by training local young people in order to prepare them for working as professional guides. A group of 34 youths from various regions of the mountainous state have finished a government-organized 20-day training course in tourist guiding and adventure tourism. Culturaltours The programme took place in Yuksom, West Sikkim, from 17 August to 5 September. It combined classroom lessons with demanding outdoor activities. The training covered trekking, hiking, rock climbing, river crossing, tent pitching and first aid. It also introduced participants to ecotourism, waste management and environmental conservation.
