Uttar Pradesh is transforming Mishrikh into a major spiritual tourism hub, focusing on its rich heritage and modern infrastructure to attract global pilgrims.
Uttar Pradesh Focuses on Mishrikh as a Spiritual Tourism Hub
Building on the success of major spiritual tourism destinations like Varanasi, Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, and Naimisharanya, the Uttar Pradesh government is now turning its attention to Mishrikh. Located between Sitapur and Hardoi, this area is rich in religious and mythological significance.
The government has initiated efforts to develop Mishrikh as a prominent spiritual tourism destination. The objective is to preserve the region’s spiritual heritage while enhancing its tourism infrastructure. The aim is to attract pilgrims and visitors not only from India but from around the world.
Dadhichi Kund: The Heart of Mishrikh’s Spiritual Identity
A major step in this initiative is the approval of a plan to establish Dadhichi Kund as a central spiritual tourism center. According to local legend, the waters of all sacred pilgrimage sites flow into Dadhichi Kund, giving the area its name, Mishrikh. In addition, the cabinet has greenlit the transfer of 0.850 hectares of land to the tourism department for the development of essential facilities in the region.
