Dubai’s Luxury Hotel Sector Commands The Spotlight With Historic Growth

According to property consultancy Cavendish Maxwell, Dubai has already added 4,255 rooms across 19 hotels in 2024, reflecting an annual growth of nearly 3 percent. By the close of the year, the city’s hotel industry will boast 724 properties and 151,245 rooms. The expansion is set to continue, with projections indicating a 3.1 percent increase in 2025 and 3.4 percent in 2026. By 2027, Dubai is expected to surpass 162,600 rooms across 769 hotels, reinforcing its status as a premier global tourism and business destination. Luxury Segment Leading the Way Dubai’s hospitality market remains firmly anchored in high-end accommodations. In 2024, nearly 70 percent of hotel rooms were in the Luxury, Upper Upscale, and Upscale categories. This trend is expected to persist in 2025, with most new supply falling under the Luxury and Upper Upscale segment. Tourism Growth Driving Demand Tourism has been a major catalyst for Dubai’s hotel expansion. The city recorded a 9.1 percent increase in overnight visitors in 2024, surpassing 17.15 million tourists in 2023. The global travel community recognized Dubai’s appeal, as the city was awarded ‘World’s Leading Shopping and Exhibition Destination’ at the 31st Annual World Travel Awards in 2024. Additionally, Mina Rashid was named the world’s top cruise port, while Dubai International Airport retained its title as the world’s leading airport.
