Thailand Introduces TDAC Digital Arrival Card, Replacing Paper Forms
Thailand has long captivated travellers from around the world with its stunning landscapes, rich culture, and tropical climate. The country’s appeal continues to grow, bolstered by global trends such as the “White Lotus Effect.” To keep pace with increasing international visitation, Thailand has rolled out a new digital immigration system. Beginning May 1, 2025, the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) will replace the old paper-based TM6 form, representing a major change in how the country handles border entry.
A Digital Leap Forward in Immigration
In an effort to streamline the entry process and enhance security, Thailand has introduced the TDAC, requiring all international visitors to complete an online form prior to their arrival. The TDAC must be submitted within 72 hours of entering the country, regardless of the mode of transport, be it air, land, or sea. Exceptions apply to travellers in transit who don’t go through immigration and those using designated “Border Passes.”

This new digital system is designed to simplify entry procedures by reducing paperwork, speeding up processing times, and improving overall security. By migrating to an online system, Thailand aims to minimize errors that are often associated with paper forms, offering a more efficient and seamless experience for both travellers and immigration officials.
The TDAC is entirely digital and can be accessed via the official government website. Travelers will need to provide several pieces of personal and travel-related information. The form requires the following details:
Personal Details: Information such as full name, nationality, passport number, and date of birth is required. These details must match the passport information to avoid delays at immigration.
Travel Information: Travelers must indicate their expected date of arrival, mode of transportation (e.g., flight, bus, car), and the purpose of their visit (tourism, business, etc.).
Accommodation Information: The TDAC asks for the address where travellers will be staying during their visit, whether it’s a hotel, private accommodation, or a friend’s residence.
Health Declaration: A critical component of the TDAC is the health declaration, which requires travellers to disclose any countries visited within the past 14 days. This measure is designed to mitigate potential health risks and help manage any emerging public health concerns.
Review and Submit: After entering all the necessary details, travellers are given the opportunity to review and correct any mistakes before submitting the form.
Once submitted, the TDAC is processed and, if approved, sent to the traveller’s email as a PDF document. The digital card can either be printed or saved on a mobile device and must be shown to immigration authorities upon arrival in Thailand.
