Qatar Airways has revolutionized the in-flight experience by launching “Gaming in the Sky,” a pioneering e-sports tournament held aboard a commercial flight. Taking place on May 11, 2025, during a flight from Doha to London, this event utilized state-of-the-art Starlink connectivity to deliver an exceptional gaming experience at 35,000 feet.
The competition brought together a prestigious group of global gaming and entertainment personalities, including Tfue, Castro1021, Lisa Zimouche, Alodia Gosiengfiao, Dantic, SV2, AJ3, Aameghessib, Danny Aarons, Ffearfful, MattHDGamer, and Slater. Oussifooty served as the host, adding an extra touch of flair to the event. This groundbreaking occasion represents a major step forward in merging aviation, technology, and entertainment in an unforgettable way.

At an altitude of 35,000 feet, Qatar Airways turned the cabin into a high-energy gaming arena, with two teams — Team Burgundy Oryx and Team Grey Aviators — going head-to-head in a mid-flight competition. Powered by Starlink’s high-speed, low-latency internet, the players experienced seamless gameplay with real-time action and live updates shared across Qatar Airways’ social media platforms.
