Orlando Joins July 4th Travel Boom with NYC, Seattle & More, Says AAA

As Independence Day approaches, the American Automobile Association (AAA) has released its travel forecast for the 2025 July 4th holiday period, projecting a record-breaking 72.2 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles from home between June 28 and July 6. This marks an increase of 1.7 million travelers over last year and 7 million more than in 2019. The surge in travel is attributed to the holiday falling on a Friday, allowing for an extended weekend or even a full week of vacation. Despite concerns over inflation, Americans are prioritizing travel. A recent Deloitte survey revealed that 53% of travelers plan to stay in paid lodging this year, up from 48% in 2024. Additionally, 70% of respondents to Bank of America’s Summer Travel Trends Survey indicated they plan to vacation this summer, a 3 percentage point increase from 2024.
