TTDC Celebrates Pongal in Madurai with Traditional Festivities

The vibrant spirit of the harvest season was brought to life recently as a grand celebration of Samuthuva Pongal was organized at the newly inaugurated TTDC Hotel in Madurai. This event was orchestrated by the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the region. By gathering individuals from various backgrounds, the essence of equality and communal harmony was emphasized. Large earthen pots were placed over wood-fired stoves in the open courtyard of the hotel, where the ceremonial boiling of milk and rice was performed. As the milk overflowed from the pots, the traditional shouts of Pongalo Pongal were raised by the gathered crowd, symbolizing prosperity and abundance for the coming year.
