Himachal Pradesh Launches Helicopter Services to Boost Regional Connectivity

In a major effort towards expanding air connectivity and accelerating tourism development, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu launched helicopter services from the Sanjauli heliport in Shimla on Wednesday. This fresh move would now serve as a faster and hassle-free mode of travel to major tourist destinations of the state and add to the region’s popularity as a dream tourist destination. The services are all set to boost connectivity between Shimla and other parts of Himachal Pradesh, helping in the development of both regional tourism and the economy. It is expected that the services will increase tourism since visitors can now easily access these must-visit destinations, including Kullu, Kinnaur, and Manali. With reduced time and an opportunity to see the beautiful landscapes of the region in a different manner, the initiative fits into the vision of Himachal Pradesh for a sustainable and accessible tourism industry. Daily Helicopter Services to Kullu and Kinnaur: A Game Changer for Tourism The helicopter service between Sanjauli and Kullu as well as Sanjauli–Reckong Peo will operate daily flights, significantly improving accessibility to two of Himachal’s tourism hubs. With Kullu being home to some of the state’s most famous tourist attractions, including its mountain resorts and adventure tourism hotspots, and Kinnaur offering serene landscapes and cultural experiences, the new service is poised to make it easier for tourists to visit these regions.
