Taj Mahal and Other Global Icons Face Overtourism in 2026 — How Destinations Plan to Tackle Crowds
Singapore Airlines is returning to Riyadh with four weekly nonstop flights from June because rising business demand, Saudi Arabia’s rapid economic transformation, and expanding tourism ambitions have reshaped the market and created strong conditions for sustained air connectivity between the two countries. The new service restores a direct link between Singapore and the Saudi capital after more than a decade, strengthens Asia–Middle East travel flows, and positions the airline to support growing trade, investment, and visitor movement while giving passengers seamless access to wider regional and long-haul networks through Singapore and Riyadh.
Singapore Airlines is set to re-establish direct air links between Singapore and Riyadh, marking a significant return to Saudi Arabia’s capital after more than a decade. From June two, the carrier plans to operate four nonstop flights each week, subject to regulatory approval, strengthening air connectivity between Southeast Asia and the Middle East at a time when travel demand between the two regions is steadily rising.
The new service will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Flights will depart Singapore in the early evening at six twenty, allowing travellers to arrive in Riyadh late at night. The return flights will leave Riyadh at eleven in the evening on the same days, offering a convenient overnight schedule for passengers heading back to Singapore. This timing is expected to appeal to both business and leisure travellers who value efficient travel windows and seamless onward connections.
