Ilocos Norte Offers Free Rides This Holy Week for Travellers

In an effort to bolster tourism this summer, the Ilocos Norte provincial government has announced an exciting travel incentive program. The program is designed to encourage more visitors to head to the beautiful northern region of the Philippines despite the rising cost of fuel. Governor Cecilia Araneta-Marcos revealed on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, that the program will offer free bus rides for travelers heading to Ilocos Norte during the Holy Week from March 31 to April 3, 2026. The Ilocos Norte Tourism Office, spearheading the initiative, has emphasized the limited availability of seats on buses, offering free one-way rides from Manila to Laoag, the province’s capital. The program, which operates on a first-come, first-served basis, aims to alleviate the burden of fuel price increases on visitors planning their Holy Week getaway. Visitors simply need to register for the travel incentive program and secure their spots for the free bus ride. The only cost travelers need to consider is their food and other personal expenses while enjoying their stay in the province. In collaboration with GV Florida Transport Inc., a trusted transport service provider based in Northern Luzon, the travel incentive program will provide a unique opportunity for travelers to explore Ilocos Norte. GV Florida Transport Inc. is known for its reliable service, ensuring that visitors will have a comfortable and hassle-free journey during the Holy Week.
