Germany Leads Global Tourism Growth with Netherlands, US, UK, India & UAE

Germany’s tourism sector has continued to demonstrate remarkable resilience during the first half of 2026, with Germany tourism, international visitor arrivals, German National Tourist Board, European Travel Commission, and foreign tourist arrivals remaining at the centre of a steadily expanding travel market. An estimated 10 to 11 million international visitors were welcomed between January and June, reflecting consistent year-to-date growth supported by strong European demand and increasing long-haul travel. The country’s diverse tourism offerings, world-renowned trade fairs, vibrant cities, cultural attractions, and improving air connectivity have continued to reinforce its position as one of Europe’s leading travel destinations. Steady expansion has been observed across several tourism indicators, including visitor arrivals, overnight stays, and inbound demand from neighbouring European countries alongside emerging long-haul markets. While official figures for May and June continue to be finalised, preliminary estimates indicate that Germany has maintained positive momentum throughout the first six months of the year, supported by business events, leisure travel, and targeted international tourism campaigns.
