Cambodia-US Air Transport Agreement Opens New Aviation Routes

Cambodia has taken a major step towards expanding its international travel network after signing a historic air transport agreement with the United States, creating new opportunities for airlines, passengers and tourism businesses. The agreement is expected to strengthen aviation cooperation, improve market access and support Cambodia’s long-term efforts to rebuild international tourism demand. However, industry experts note that the deal alone will not immediately restore visitor numbers because Cambodia must also address wider challenges including airline capacity, destination promotion and global traveller confidence. The agreement represents an important milestone in Cambodia’s aviation development strategy as the country continues improving its position as a competitive Southeast Asian tourism destination. By expanding opportunities for direct air services and greater airline participation, the agreement could help Cambodia attract more visitors from the United States, one of its important long-haul tourism markets
