Japan Partners With Botswana on New Tourism Statistics Dashboard
Botswana has partnered with Japan through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to transform tourism growth with a new Tourism Statistics Dashboard designed to enhance visitor data tracking, economic impact measurement and evidence-based strategies. Launched by the Ministry of Environment and Tourism in April 2026, the platform will support sustainable destination planning by improving tourism statistics, monitoring visitor trends and measuring the sector’s contribution to GDP, employment, investment and community development.
