Best destinations for a dog-friendly UK holiday named - ‘stunning’
With 76 percent of Britons saying they would avoid an overseas trip this year, UK holidays are booming. There are many reasons to take a break in the UK, but an added bonus is the opportunity to take pets on holiday without having too much hassle.
Britons looking for a dog-friendly holiday spot this year may wonder where to go.
A new study by RAC Shop has looked at the percentage of dog-friendly holiday rentals, cafes and attractions in each area to find the best spots for a UK holiday with pets.
Taking the top spot was Camber Sands.
With its sandy beach, castle and the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, Camber Sands was found to be the perfect seaside destination for a UK holiday with pets.
Tripadvisor user Fearless said: “I have been going on holiday to Camber Sands all of my younger years. Been back a few times on day trips, but I've just spent the week there with my dog, Boris.
“Still a great place to go (30 years since I've really explored), Rye, Romney, Dymchurch, Hythe, Dungeness, Hastings are all on the doorstep, and all the costal nature walks.
“Friendly people, and lots has changed, but so much of the heritage hasn't. I would recommend it to couples, families, dog owners and all.”
In second place was St Ives.
The Cornwall town has plenty of pet-friendly cafes with outdoors seating.
