Air India Launches Daily Non-Stop Flights Between Delhi and Kuala Lumpur
Air India, India’s leading global airline, has announced the launch of its new non-stop services between Delhi and Kuala Lumpur, starting from 15 September 2024. This strategic addition to Air India’s network aims to further enhance connectivity between India and Southeast Asia, catering to the growing number of travelers and businesses between the two regions. Utilizing its state-of-the-art Airbus A320neo aircraft, configured in two classes, Air India will offer daily flights on this new route.
Enhancing Air India’s Southeast Asia Network
The new route to Kuala Lumpur marks another milestone in Air India’s expansion strategy in Southeast Asia. Currently, Air India operates non-stop flights to five major destinations in the region: Singapore, Bangkok, Phuket, Ho Chi Minh City, and Yangon. With the addition of Kuala Lumpur, Air India strengthens its presence in this dynamic and rapidly growing market, providing travelers with more options and flexibility.
Meeting the Demand for Increased Travel
The introduction of the Delhi-Kuala Lumpur route comes at a time when tourism and trade between India and Malaysia are on the rise. Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial & Transformation Officer at Air India, highlighted the importance of this new service: “We are happy to support the fast-growing tourism and trade corridor between India and Malaysia with this new daily service. Leveraging our robust global network, this route will not only serve travelers flying between the two nations but also offer convenient one-stop connections for travelers from Europe and North America seeking to explore the wonders of Malaysia.”
Visa-Free Travel in Malaysia
Malaysia offers a convenient visa-free travel experience for Indian tourists. Indian travelers can enjoy up to 15 days of stay in Malaysia without a visa under the eNTRI (Electronic Travel Registration & Information) program. This streamlined process makes it easier for Indian visitors to explore Malaysia’s diverse attractions, from the bustling streets of Kuala Lumpur to the serene beaches of Langkawi and the cultural heritage sites of Penang and Malacca. With its rich blend of cultures, cuisines, and natural beauty, Malaysia continues to be a popular destination for Indian tourists seeking both adventure and relaxation.
Convenient Connections for Global Travelers
One of the key benefits of the new service is the enhanced connectivity it offers to international travelers. The daily flights between Delhi and Kuala Lumpur are scheduled to provide seamless one-stop connections for passengers traveling from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Europe. This makes it easier for travelers from these regions to reach Malaysia via Air India’s extensive network.
Supporting Tourism and Trade
Malaysia has long been a popular destination for Indian travelers, known for its rich cultural heritage, stunning landscapes, and vibrant cities. The new Air India service is expected to boost tourism by providing a direct and convenient travel option. Additionally, the route will support trade relations by facilitating easier business travel between the two countries.
Bookings for the new flights are now open on Air India’s official website, airindia.com, as well as through travel agents worldwide. This makes it easier for travelers to plan their trips in advance and take advantage of the new service.
Air India’s new route to Kuala Lumpur is part of a broader strategy to expand its global reach and offer more direct flights to key international destinations. By continuously improving its network and services, Air India aims to meet the evolving needs of its passengers and remain a leading player in the global aviation industry.
