Malaysia Airlines Strengthens Partnership with Amadeus

Malaysia Airlines teams up with Amadeus to offer NDC-sourced content, enhancing booking options for Indian travel agents and improving customer experiences. Malaysia Airlines has been a long-standing technology partner of Amadeus, a leading global provider of advanced travel industry solutions. This partnership has been further enhanced by the introduction of Malaysia Airlines’ NDC-sourced content for Amadeus-connected travel agents in India. By enrolling in the New Distribution Capability (NDC) platform, travel agents gain significant advantages, including access to exclusive promotional fares and a range of value-added services, such as extra baggage, seat selection, and lounge access at competitive rates. This gives travel agents a competitive edge, enabling them to offer exclusive deals to Malaysia Airlines’ customers through both the NDC platform and the airline’s website. Dersenish Aresandiran, Chief Commercial Officer of Airlines from Malaysia Aviation Group commented, “Malaysia Airlines’ adoption of NDC is a significant step towards modernizing airline retail. Our partnership with Amadeus has been crucial in achieving our transformation goals. With NDC, we look forward to enhancing the shopping experience and allowing customers to personalize their travels, supporting our vision of becoming Asia’s leading travel and aviation services group.” Javier Laforgue, Executive Vice President, Travel Unit & Managing Director, Asia Pacific says, “Our partnership with Malaysia Airlines is another major milestone in our strategy to provide deep end-to-end integrations of content via NDC into the travel seller’s technical ecosystem, as well as supporting the industry’s ongoing retailing journey. With this deployment of NDC, we start building on the momentum made over the years to support modern retailing and once more demonstrating our commitment to continue offering through the Amadeus Travel Platform more travel content globally and at scale.” The technology agreement between Malaysia Airlines and Amadeus highlights the robust partnership between the two companies. In 2022, Malaysia Airlines renewed its contract for the Amadeus Altéa Passenger Service System (PSS) and embraced a range of advanced technology solutions.
