Maldives Records New 214,000 Tourist Arrivals in January 2025 – China, Russia, and Italy Lead Visitor Surge
The Maldives has recorded a remarkable surge in tourist arrivals at the start of 2025, reinforcing its position as one of the world’s most sought-after travel destinations. According to statistics released by the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, the number of international visitors reached 214,000 in January, marking a 12% increase compared to the same month last year.
On a daily basis, an average of 6,900 tourists arrived in the country throughout the month. The trend has continued to gain momentum, with updated figures showing that as of early February, 233,000 visitors have entered the Maldives, pushing the average daily arrivals to 7,000.
