Egypt’s New Tourism Revenue Surges to $15.3B in 2024
Egypt has been experiencing remarkable growth in its tourism sector, positioning itself as one of the world’s most dynamic travel destinations. The country’s National Tourism Development Strategy has been central to this transformation, focusing on increasing global competitiveness, enhancing promotional efforts, and encouraging private sector investment.
Recent government reports have highlighted the significant impact of these initiatives, with Egypt’s tourism revenue more than doubling over the past decade. Official figures indicate that in 2024, the country generated $15.3 billion from tourism, compared to $7.2 billion in 2014. Additionally, the number of inbound tourists has surged by nearly 60%, reaching 15.8 million visitors in 2024, up from 9.9 million a decade earlier
