Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal, Khajuraho, Orchha, Satpura Tiger Reserve to Highlight Sustainable and Heritage Tourism
Madhya Pradesh has positioned itself as a key player in India’s tourism sector, with its participation in ITB Berlin 2025 marking another milestone in its global outreach strategy. Industry experts have noted that the state’s growing prominence in international tourism is the result of its diversified offerings in cultural, spiritual, historical, and adventure tourism. Officials from the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board (MPTB) have revealed that their focus at the prestigious travel trade show is to engage with global tourism professionals and promote the state as an offbeat yet multifaceted destination.
The delegation, led by Additional Managing Director Mrs. Bidisha Mukherjee, is expected to interact with key industry stakeholders at Hall 5.2, Stand 227, highlighting the state’s efforts in responsible and sustainable tourism. As part of its marketing push, Madhya Pradesh is also reinforcing its position as a safe and attractive destination for solo travelers, including women, while showcasing its rich archaeological and cultural heritage.
Tourism Growth in Madhya Pradesh: An Upward Trend
Recent statistics indicate that Madhya Pradesh is experiencing remarkable growth in tourist arrivals. The state recorded 112.1 million visitors in 2023, a dramatic rise from 34.1 million in 2022. Tourism experts believe this surge reflects the state’s increasing appeal among both domestic and international travelers, particularly as interest in heritage, wildlife, and experiential tourism continues to expand.
The tourism board has emphasized that this upward trajectory is fueled by its continued investment in sustainable tourism practices and community-driven initiatives. By actively promoting eco-tourism and heritage preservation, Madhya Pradesh is carving out a distinct identity within India’s travel landscape.
