Kerala Revenue Dept plans to implement National Housing Park; develop it as tourism hub

Kerala Revenue Department has planned to implement National Housing Park to showcase housing models costing INR 5 lakhs to INR 10 lakhs. The Kerala government said that it is the first such project in India. The exhibition will come up in six acres of land and will be developed as a tourist attraction. "Kerala Revenue Department plans to implement National Housing Park for the first time in India. The project will set up an extensive exhibition of houses built at a cost of INR 5 lakh to INR 10 lakh on six acres of land and will be converted to a tourism hub," the Kerala Government tweeted on Friday. Kerala Tourism has been working on various activities to promote tourism in the state. Various themes like long stay, homestay, self-drive holidays, etc., are going to be used to attract tourists in the state. Besides, a series of travel trade networking activities, including participation in trade fairs, organising B2B partnership meets, road shows and promoting products and events and products through print, television, radio, digital, OTT, etc., will also take place.

Indian Army organises 3- day winter festival in JK's Gulmarg

Indian Army Dagger Division in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism department on Friday organised a three-day winter festival at the world-famous tourist resort Gulmarg. The festival was inaugurated by General officer commanding (GOC) 19 Infantry Division Ajay Chandpori in presence of other officers. The event will continue till March 6 in which actors and singers from outside Kashmir valley will participate. Speaking to ANI, Ajay Chandpori, GOC 19 Infantry Division said, "The event has three main aims: first is to maintain peace and tranquillity that is obtained in the valley. We want to showcase to the country at large and the world how normalcy is strengthening here." "Second, we want to showcase the full potential of the Gulmarg for the tourists who come here and third is to provide opportunities for the youth. There are many youths in the valley who are inspirational and looking for opportunities. Through these activists, we will showcase the talent of the youth," he further added. The participants lauded this step taken by the Indian army as it will boast Tourism in Gulmarg. Ubaid Gulzar, participant, said "I have participated the cycling here and got the first position. I want to say to all those youth sitting at home that they should participate in the event and utilise the maximum benefit of the opportunities."

Denmark Applies Facilitated Travel Rules for Non-EU Nationals From Today

Travellers from third countries are eligible to enter the territory of Denmark under facilitated travel rules, starting from today, March 1, 2022. The decision has been announced last week, on February 25, by the Danish Ministry of Health, which in a press release regarding the move also noted that starting from today, all travel restrictions applied to arrivals from other European Union and Schengen Area countries would cease to exist, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports. On the other hand, travellers reaching Denmark from non-EU and non-Schengen countries can enter completely restriction-free, too, if they have been vaccinated against COVID-19 and hold a valid certificate proving that. The same applies to those who have recovered from the virus, while the rest need to test for COVIF-19 within 24 hours of arrival in the country. “If you are entering from a country outside the EU or Schengen, you will only be required to take a test within 24 hours of entry. Persons entering from outside the EU and Schengen who have been vaccinated with a recognized vaccine or can document that they have been infected with COVID-19 within the last 180 days are exempt from this requirement and can therefore enter without restrictions,” the Ministry of Health noted announcing the facilitated entry rules. Exempt from the obligation to test within 24 hours of arrival are also children under the age of 15 who have been infected with COVID-19 nor vaccinated against it. Third-country nationals travelling to Denmark with their vaccination cards must be aware that now all existing COVID-19 vaccines are accepted for entry into the country. In order to be able to enter, one must have been vaccinated with any of the vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) or the World Health Organization (WHO), which are as follows: Pfizer/BioNTech Moderna AstraZeneca Janssen Covishield Covaxin Sinovac Sinopharm At the same time, travellers must be aware that only those vaccinated in the last 270 days are permitted to enter Denmark. Those whose vaccination is older than that must receive their third vaccine or booster doses in order to be able to enter as vaccinated persons. On the other hand, travellers from third countries who want to enter Denmark as persons recovered from COVID-19 must show proof they have been infected with the virus sometime in the last 180 days and recovered from it. Those who are neither vaccinated nor recovered from the virus have to present COVID-19 test results taken 48 hours before arrival if it is an antigen test or 72 hours before arrival in cases when a PCR test has been performed. Travellers that do not hold pre-departure test results need to test within 24 hours upon arrival in Denmark. The Danish Ministry of Health notes that these restrictions will remain effective until March 29, yet, if the situation related to COVID-19 changes for worse, the country will tighten up entry rules again.

Arunachal Pradesh To Get A Greenfield Airport In Hollongi

Considering the importance of air connectivity to the capital city of Arunachal Pradesh, AAI has undertaken the work of constructing a Greenfield Airport in Hollongi, 15 Kms from Itanagar. With an estimated cost of Rs.645 crore, the project includes the development work i.e. construction of airport pavements, air side work, terminal Building and city side works. The proposed airport is designed for operations of A-320 category of aircraft and future extension of Runway by 500m length to cater A-321 type of aircraft. With an area of 4100 sqm, the terminal building of the airport will be able to handle 200 passengers during peak hours. Equipped with eight check-in counters, the terminal building will have all modern passenger facilities Development Work is in full swing and almost 80% of airside works is completed. Progress of Construction of New Interim Terminal building is 30%. The airport is planned for operationalization on 15thAugust 2022.

Himachal Pradesh to push for Caravan tourism, develop circuits

Taking note of growing Caravan tourism, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic years, for being safe and flexible while providing social bubble, Himachal Pradesh government has decided to focus on it. Caravans tourism is a unique tourism aimed at promoting tourism activities in circuits and destinations, which are not having adequate hotel accommodation. In his budget speech, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur announced the promotion of Caravan tourism for new tourist destinations. Already many states like Kerala, Karnataka and Goa have introduced this concept and now Himachal also is going to the follow the route. He said that to attract more domestic and foreign tourists, new initiatives of Caravan tourism, along with others will be undertaken with the participation of private sector. He also announced linking traditional Kathkuni style architecture sites to various tourist circuits and the art gallery in Kangra. The historical forts of the state would be developed as tourist attractions. He also announced to develop mountain biking tracks. In 2022-23, under the ‘Nai Rahein Nai Manzilen’ scheme INR 50 crore will be spent. Shiv Dham in Mandi, water sports in Larji and Tattapani, paragliding in Bir Billing and Chanshal will be covered under the scheme. The state government has made strenuous efforts to get approved the Asian Development Bank assisted INR 2,095 crore project for development of tourism infrastructure in the state. Beautification of towns, conservation of heritage buildings, construction of heliports, eco-tourism, water sports wellness centres, Buddhist circuits, tourism infrastructure, training of youth will be undertaken in two phases of the project. The detailed project reports (DPRs) would be prepared and tenders will be invited for the same. These will include a convention centre at Dharamshala, beautification of Palampur, Shiv Dham Phase-II, beautification of Baba Balak Nath temple and wellness centre at Jhatingri.
