Good news for Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra flyers! More UDAN routes announced

With the commencement of these routes, the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation has operationalized a total of 246 routes under RCS-UDAN. Due to the non-availability of direct flights from Belagavi to these places, people had to travel a lot to reach any of them. To curb this problem, TruJet will operate six flights every day and will deploy ATR 72(500), 72-seater luxury aircraft on these routes. It currently operates 32 flights under RCS-UDAN and with the addition of Tirupati-Mysuru-Hyderabad, there will be a total of 38 flights under the umbrella of TruJet.

IndiGo goes to Dammam

In a bid to expand its international operations and strengthens its presence in the Middle East, IndiGo has announced the launch of Dammam as its 24th international and 87th overall destination on its network. The airline will operate a total of 10 daily direct flights connecting Dammam with Mumbai, Hyderabad and Trivandrum. William Boulter, the chief commercial officer of IndiGo said: “As the capital of the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, Dammam offers a well-balanced mixture of history, culture, business and employment opportunities for everyone. We are confident that these routes will be a step towards promotion of trade, culture and social cohesion through enhanced mobility between the two nations”.

Travel industry insisting 'nothing will change' after January 31st Brexit day

Rome bans souvenir stands around its famous sites; find out why

Your street shopping in Rome experience could change forever as the city has now banned souvenir stands located near its famous sites. Not only souvenir stands, but snack carts are also going to be banned in the city. These sites include places such as the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, and the Spanish steps. According to reports, 17 of these stalls are being closed down, and only eight of them are allowed to remain open. The ban has been put in place in order to protect the heritage of Rome, according to the city’s mayor, Virginia Raggi. The crowd surrounding such stalls can dampen the experience for a lot of travelers, and significantly reduces the importance and beauty of the sites. However, some of us do like to buy souvenirs and tiny replicas of these heritage buildings. The ban was put in place on January 1, 2020, and is supposedly going to save Rome’s reputation from getting ruined.
