Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), a global leader in cruise innovation, has officially welcomed Norwegian Aqua, the 20th addition to its prestigious fleet and the inaugural vessel in the groundbreaking Prima Plus Class. The handover took place at the renowned Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy.
As Norwegian Aqua gets ready for its inaugural voyage, NCL has also achieved another milestone with the float-out of Norwegian Luna. This moment marks the completion of the ship’s exterior work, and for the first time, the vessel touches the water. Norwegian Luna will now shift to the floating dock that housed Norwegian Aqua for interior work and outfitting, setting the stage for its debut in April 2026.
“Norwegian Aqua is more than just a ship—it’s a commitment to our guests that we will continue to push boundaries and deliver MORE at sea,” said David J. Herrera, president of Norwegian Cruise Line. “From thrilling attractions like the Aqua Slidecoaster to the debut of Sukhothai, our first Thai specialty restaurant, Norwegian Aqua is designed to create unforgettable moments while cruising to the Caribbean, Bermuda and our private island in the Bahamas, Great Stirrup Cay, where we remain focused and excited about investing in the guest experience.”
