India Welcomes An Unprecedented Air Travel Boost As IndiGo Doubles Prayagraj Capacity For 2025

IndiGo expands flights to Prayagraj for Maha Kumbh 2025, doubling capacity with 165,000+ seats and 900 flights, ensuring seamless travel for pilgrims. IndiGo, India’s premier airline, has significantly ramped up its flight operations and seat availability for Prayagraj Airport to accommodate the surge in travelers attending the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025. The grand event, which began on January 13 and will continue until February 26, has driven an unprecedented demand for air travel, prompting IndiGo to enhance its planned capacity expansion even further. In response, the airline has now scheduled over 165,000 seats on flights to and from Prayagraj—more than doubling its usual capacity. To improve connectivity during this period, IndiGo will link Prayagraj with 10 major cities across India, introducing new direct flights from Ahmedabad, Kolkata, and Jaipur in addition to its existing services from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Raipur, and Bhubaneswar. Moreover, the airline has increased flight frequency on established routes and deployed its larger Airbus A321 aircraft to cater to the growing number of passengers. With these enhancements, IndiGo will operate approximately 900 flights to and from Prayagraj, a substantial rise from its regular 490 flights.
