In fact, November 12 saw only 16,000-odd people flying out of Kolkata, making it the year's lowest departure data for a single day at the airport. Officials had said it was possibly due to a majority of people staying back for Diwali and Bhai Phonta festivities. "I did not get leave during Durga Puja and to compensate this, I took two weeks of leave during Kali Puja and Diwali, during which I also watched a couple of matches at Eden Gardens. I took a flight back to Bengaluru on Sunday evening and resumed office from Monday," said Amrita Roy, who works for a private firm in Bengaluru
