High-Speed Train to Link Prague, Berlin & Copenhagen by 2026
Come May 2026, European visitors will have a new and exciting alternative to travel between three of the continent’s greatest cities—Prague, Berlin, and Copenhagen. A new high-speed train link will become a reality, connecting these cities with a seamless journey intended to make cross-border travel faster, simpler, and cleaner. Through the partnership of Deutsche Bahn (DB), Danish Railways (DSB), and the Czech Railways (ČD), the initiative hopes to offer commuters a direct route that serves to alleviate the rising need for rail travel as much as the need for cleaner modes of transportation in Europe.
This new rail link will run year-round, providing passengers with a reliable and efficient alternative to flying. The daytime service will take just seven hours between Copenhagen and Berlin, and around eleven hours between Copenhagen and Prague. The operators are also planning to extend the current summer season night train service that connects Hamburg and Copenhagen, now continuing on to Prague. Key cities like Dresden and Hamburg will also be included in the route, ensuring that passengers have easy access to these cultural hubs.
