Indonesia Boosts Connectivity with New Jakarta–Bali Route

Indonesia is intensifying its domestic connectivity strategy with the launch of a new direct route by Garuda Indonesia between Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta and Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali. This move not only enhances accessibility for travelers between two of the country’s most vital economic and tourism hubs but also supports a broader transportation vision with 144 weekly connections. The initiative is aimed at boosting both business and leisure mobility, easing congestion at Soekarno-Hatta, and elevating the quality of domestic air travel as part of Indonesia’s wider tourism and economic recovery agenda. Garuda Indonesia, the nation’s flag carrier, has expanded its domestic network with the official launch of a new daily flight connecting Jakarta’s Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport to Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport. The inaugural flight on this route commenced on Friday, August 1, 2025, and is now in regular operation. This addition marks a strategic step by the airline to reinforce its role in supporting regional travel, domestic mobility, and tourism development in Indonesia. This new service utilizes a Boeing 737-800NG aircraft, offering a seating capacity of 162 passengers. The aircraft operates once daily in both directions, offering travelers a faster and more direct option to reach Bali from central Jakarta, especially for those residing closer to Halim Airport than to the much busier Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
