World Travel & Tourism Council Sets Eight Priorities for Future Tourism Growth
The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has formally adopted eight strategic priorities to guide the global Travel & Tourism private sector toward long-term sustainable growth. Approved by the WTTC Executive Committee, these priorities reflect the collective vision of the sector’s leading organisations and are designed to address the most pressing challenges facing the industry today. They provide a clear roadmap for enhancing innovation, investment, and resilience while supporting destinations, operators, and travellers worldwide.
These priorities represent a proactive strategy to strengthen the private sector’s role in shaping the future of Travel & Tourism. By aligning initiatives with member insights and global best practices, WTTC aims to create a framework that ensures the sector thrives in a rapidly changing environment.
The development of these strategic priorities involved a comprehensive consultation process over several months. WTTC conducted more than 200 interviews with CEOs and senior leaders from across the Travel & Tourism ecosystem, including airlines, hotels, cruise lines, airports, car rental companies, technology providers, and destination management organisations.
Insights from these discussions were presented at the most recent Executive Committee meeting held in Egypt. The outcomes now form a foundation for a renewed strategic agenda that emphasises long-term growth, operational resilience, and sustainable investment.
