Lucknow’s new E-Double-Decker buses are finally on road
The world is going green and so is Lucknow, the City of Nawabs! Lucknow's new E-Double-Decker buses are finally on road. The first fleet of electric double-decker buses are here to improve public transport and reduce traffic congestion. These buses are designed to carry more passengers, making travel more efficient while contributing to cleaner air.
Launched by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath: The double-decker buses were officially inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at the Akanksha Haat event held at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow. The CM also took a ride on one of the buses, symbolizing the state’s commitment to enhancing public transportation.
Eco-Friendly buses: These electric buses produce zero emissions, making them an eco-friendly alternative to traditional diesel buses. This move aligns with the state's efforts to reduce air pollution and promote cleaner, more sustainable transportation options.
Affordable Fare Structure: The new bus service is designed to be accessible for everyone. Fares start as low as ₹12 for shorter trips, with the maximum fare for a 30-km journey set at ₹45. This affordability ensures that public transport remains within reach for all passengers.
