Thailand Shines As The Ultimate Travel Destination, Surpassing Vietnam, Malaysia And Indonesia

Thailand has been recognized as the seventh best destination globally for tourism, outpacing its Southeast Asian counterparts such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam, according to a recent report. In the rankings published by U.S. News & World Report, Singapore secured the 14th spot, while Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Myanmar ranked 31st, 32nd, 33rd, 41st, 62nd, and 72nd, respectively. These rankings were derived from a worldwide survey of over 17,000 participants, who evaluated countries based on criteria including stunning landscapes, welcoming locals, adventurous experiences, and exceptional cuisine. Italy claimed the top position as the best country for tourism, followed by Spain in second place and France in third. Thailand has gained global recognition for its iconic golden temples, warm hospitality, and traveler-friendly visa policies. As of July, the country expanded its visa-free entry program, allowing citizens from 93 countries and territories—up from 57—to visit for up to 60 days. This year, Thailand has already welcomed nearly 30 million international visitors and is well on its way to achieving its ambitious goal of attracting 36 million tourists by year-end. In October, Thailand and Vietnam stood out as the only Southeast Asian nations featured on Condé Nast Traveler‘s prestigious list of the 20 best countries for travelers, as voted by the publication’s readers.
