Akasa Air achieves a milestone with its “Pets on Akasa” service

Akasa Air, India’s fastest-growing airline, has achieved a major milestone with its Pets on Akasa service, celebrating 5,000 pet passengers since its launch in November 2022. This milestone highlights the growing trend of pet parents opting for air travel with their furry companions, underscoring Akasa Air’s commitment to inclusive and comfortable travel experiences. Key Highlights: Pet Preferences: Of the 5,000 pets flown, 66% were dogs, and 34% were cats. Top Routes: Bengaluru led as the pet travel hub, contributing 31% of all pet passengers, followed by Delhi and Mumbai. Popular routes include Bengaluru-Delhi, Delhi-Bengaluru, and Mumbai-Delhi. Enhanced Policies: In May 2024, Akasa Air introduced key updates, such as increasing the in-cabin pet weight limit to 10 kg (including the container) and extending the validity of pet travel certificates to 15 days, offering added flexibility and convenience for pet parents.
