American Airlines Among Top Sustainable Airlines in the World for 2024
American Airlines has once again demonstrated its commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) excellence, earning a place on the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) for the second year running. This achievement highlights the airline’s role as a trailblazer in sustainability within the global aviation sector.

These recognitions reflect American Airlines’ unwavering dedication to reducing its environmental impact, fostering social responsibility, and leading the industry toward a greener future. The airline’s consistent presence on these indices underscores its efforts to shape a more sustainable and responsible aviation landscape.
“We are proud to be recognized for the progress we’ve made to advance sustainability and resilience in aviation,” said American’s CEO Robert Isom. “Thanks to the hard work of our dedicated team members, American continues to improve the reliability of our operations, support our team and customers, and back innovative solutions to drive a sustainable future for aviation.”
