Emirates Airline has taken a bold step in strengthening its presence in East Asia with the launch of a new daily service to Shenzhen, China. The inaugural flight EK328 from Dubai (DXB) landed at Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport (SZX) on July 1, 2025. This new route marks a significant milestone for Emirates, as Shenzhen becomes the fourth gateway in China for the airline, joining Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou in the Emirates network. Additionally, Shenzhen becomes the first city in China to be served by Emirates’ retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, showcasing the airline’s dedication to offering passengers a premium flying experience.
Strategic Importance of Shenzhen in Emirates’ Network Expansion
Shenzhen, located in Guangdong Province, has long been regarded as a global hub for technology, innovation, and manufacturing. The city plays a pivotal role in China’s economic landscape, particularly in industries like biopharma, smart manufacturing, and e-commerce. By launching this new route, Emirates aims to facilitate increased trade, tourism, and cultural exchange between Dubai and Shenzhen, two cities that are both key players in their respective regions.
The addition of Shenzhen brings Emirates’ weekly flights to China to 42, offering daily services to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and now Shenzhen. With China being one of the world’s largest markets, this expansion is crucial for Emirates, supporting growing demand from both business and leisure travelers. The new service is also set to enhance Emirates’ East Asia growth strategy and provides smoother connections to other destinations across the Middle East, Europe, and Africa.
