Jaisalmer Desert Festival 2020 to start from February 7

The festival will be held from February 7-9 at Jaisalmer. News has it that even this year, the organisers will rope in Bollywood singers. Hoteliers and resort owners have also been directed to post information about the festivals in order to promote it far and wide. A heritage walk will be hosted on February 6, and deep daan programme will be organised at Gadisar Lake. Mehta has also asked the officials to host the programme and arrangements in a way that visitors enjoy it thoroughly. The highlights of Jaisalmer Desert Festival 2020 will be Ghoomar dance, turban tying competition, moustache competition, the mister and miss desert among others. Camel decoration, panihari matka race, shaan-e- marudhara, camel polo match, and camel tattoo show will be hosted. There will also be desert safari on camels or a jeep on the shifting sand dunes.

UAE offers 5-year tourist visa for all nationalities under new scheme.

United Arab Emirates (UAE) has always fascinated travellers around the world. Now travelling to UAE would become much easier, as the country has decided to issue a multiple-entry tourist visa scheme for all nationalities. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Monday announced that the tourist visa in the UAE will be issued for five years from now. Previously, the tourist visas were valid for only 30 to 90 days. But now, tourist of any nationality can have the benefit of a five-year visa. This step was taken in order to boost the tourism economy in the country and to lure travellers from all around the world to gulf countries. The government is also trying to convert gulf countries into a global tourist destination.

Vistara kicks off anniversary sale with one-way domestic fares starting from Rs 995.

On its 5th anniversary, Vistara Airlines is offering great deals for its domestic and international flyers. For the anniversary sale, the airline announced that it is offering one-way tickets at discounted prices starting from Rs 995. The airline said that the discounted fares are available for all three classes of travel across its domestic and international networks. Fares for the domestic destinations will start at Rs 995 for Economy Class, Rs 1,995 for Premium Economy and Rs 5,555 for Business Class. As for the fares for their international destinations, the one-way ticket prices will start at Rs 14,555 for Economy Class, Rs 19,995 for Premium Economy and Rs 35,555 for Business Class. The prices will be inclusive of all taxes and fees, the carrier said.

Bhutan to levy Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) on Indian tourists

Bhutan has made it mandatory for tourists visiting from neighboring countries including India, Bangladesh and Maldives to pay a Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) of INR 1000. According to the news reports, the fee has been levied considering instances of some tourists disobeying the local law and order and also showing disrespect towards local customs and traditions. Meanwhile, the Bhutanese kingdom wants to control the flow of travelers from India and more such South Asian countries. Up till now, tourists from three countries did not have to pay a visa or any entry fee to enter Bhutan. On the other hand, tourists from other nations have to pay a USD 250 charge per day to the Bhutanese government, which also includes a USD 65 sustainable development fee.

Disney Cruise Line is offering travelers who book their voyage by February 14 the chance to pay only half of the required deposit on the day they make their reservation. To qualify for the 50 percent discount, travelers must book a four-night or longer Disney cruise departing between June 20 and May 31, 2021, with the remaining deposit balance due at the time of final payment.
