Hanoi Welcomes 1.34M Travelers During Tet

Hanoi’s tourism sector is experiencing a spectacular rise in numbers during the 2026 Tet holiday (Lunar New Year), with the city set to welcome a total of 1.34 million travelers. This increase is a major milestone, reflecting a 36.3% growth compared to the previous year. As of now, 217,000 foreign tourists have visited Hanoi, marking an impressive 55% rise year-on-year. Domestic tourism is also thriving, with 1.13 million domestic travelers flocking to the capital, reflecting a 33.2% increase in local tourism compared to last year. This surge in tourism activity highlights Hanoi’s increasing importance as a sought-after holiday destination during the Tet period. Hanoi’s booming tourism sector has also seen a remarkable boost in revenue, reaching a total of 4.87 trillion VND (over 187.5 million USD). This marks a 40.2% increase compared to the previous year. The surge in tourism revenue not only reflects the influx of travelers but also the growing demand for diverse cultural experiences and high-quality services during the Tet season.
