Abu Dhabi is building a Harry Potter theme park. It could set a new global standard for immersive tourism.
Abu Dhabi is preparing to enter one of the world’s most competitive themed-entertainment arenas with a new Harry Potter themed land at Warner Bros. World Yas Island. The project will become the Middle East’s first Harry Potter-themed land and forms part of a major expansion of the indoor theme park. Miral and Warner Bros. Discovery announced the project in 2022, while the attraction remains under development today. The timing gives Abu Dhabi a formidable benchmark: Universal’s Wizarding Worlds have spent more than 15 years refining cinematic immersion, storytelling, retail and attractions. Yet Abu Dhabi has an unusual advantage. Its Harry Potter experience will sit inside the world’s biggest indoor theme park, where climate control can protect intricate environments from heat, sunlight and weather. Warner Bros. World also won the 2026 Liseberg Applause Award, strengthening the park’s credentials before its most ambitious expansion arrives.
