Seychelles strengthens tourism partnership with China through heritage discussions in Beijing. To boost Seychelles’ tourism sector and highlight its rich cultural heritage, digital innovations and unique travel experiences, Seychelles is attending a large international summit in Beijing between 29 October and 4 November 2026. The Indian Ocean nation has been invited to take part in a large scale international seminar to discuss how artificial intelligence, virtual reality and sustainable cultural tourism can be used within the sector. This new project coincides with both nations celebrating 50 years of diplomatic relations. Seychelles will leverage Chinese technological know-how with its unique Creole culture to diversify the tourism industry in Seychelles, empower local communities and appeal to international tourists to explore more than just its world-famous beaches. Seychelles is exploring new opportunities for cultural tourism through the Integrated Development of Culture and Tourism for African Countries seminar in Beijing. Organised by China’s Central Academy of Cultural and Tourism Administration, the programme brings together African representatives to examine tourism development, heritage preservation and technological innovation.
