Malaysia launches a groundbreaking tourism mission in Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Kochi, spotlighting its iconic MICE, wedding, and leisure travel destinations.
Tourism Malaysia is setting its sights on India with its largest-ever Sales Mission, scheduled from February 3 to 7, 2025. The campaign will span key Indian cities, including Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Kochi, with an impressive delegation of 62 Malaysian sellers representing hotels, travel agents, state tourism boards, and event organizers. This mission aims to position Malaysia as a premier destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) tourism, wedding tourism, and leisure travel, targeting Southern India as a priority market.
The importance of India as a tourism market for Malaysia cannot be overstated. Between January and November 2024, Malaysia welcomed over 1 million Indian tourists, marking a 47% growth compared to the same period in 2019. Remarkably, over 50% of these travelers hailed from Southern India, reaffirming the region’s strategic value. This data highlights India’s growing role in Malaysia’s tourism landscape, with Southern India acting as a critical gateway.
