GSTC to launch India Working Group on November 10

(GSTC) will be announcing the launch of GSTC India Working Group on November 10. On the occasion, GSTC will also be hosting a seminar on, Unpacking Sustainable Tourism in India through the lens of the GSTC Criteria. Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, Arvind Singh, will be taking the lead in initiating the tourism system to move towards the mandates of sustainability with the keynote speech. A global industry leader, Randy Durband, who is also the CEO of GSTC, will usher in the experiences of GSTC to the discerning tourism stakeholders in India and will also speak about how businesses can benefit from sustainability accreditations. CB Ramkumar, South Asia Director, GSTC, who will be introducing GSTC India Working Group, says, “Tourism consumes resources that are disproportionate to the value it adds to economies. For far too long, tourism has ignored calls for being more sustainable. The time has come for all of us in the tourism business, to start the journey towards sustainability.”
