Thailand’s Bangkok-Nong Khai high-speed rail project, designed to integrate with China’s high-speed railway network via Laos, is expected to transform regional travel and position Thailand as a major transport and logistics hub in Southeast Asia. With the project confirmed to be operational by 2030, passengers, businesses, and tourism sectors stand to benefit from faster, more efficient, and more interconnected rail services.
The government, through spokesman Jirayu Huangsab, provided an update on the progress of this Thailand-China cooperation project, detailing the current construction status, upcoming phases, and international connectivity. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to modernize Thailand’s infrastructure, enhance trade, and attract foreign investment.
