Goa seeks more direct flights to boost tourism

Goa has for years been a popular destination for domestic and international tourists and the recent charter flights that are landing in the state highlight a strong interest from visitors from countries like Poland, Russia, Kazakhstan and multiple other destinations. Known for its rich cultural heritage, and a variety of adventure activities, Goa offers an ideal blend of relaxation and hip activities that appeal to European travellers. Moreover, an increase in flight capacity and introduction of direct international and domestic flights is what the state's tourism department stressed will boost footfalls in Goa. The tourism department has requested the central government to increase flights to the sunny state. "Increasing flight capacity to Goa, particularly with more direct international and domestic routes, is expected to boost tourism by enhancing accessibility and reducing travel time for visitors. The improved connectivity supports Goa's growing appeal as a year-round destination, an official of the Tourism Department told CNBC-TV18.

Eco-Friendly buses: These electric buses produce zero emissions, making them an eco-friendly alternative to traditional diesel buses. Affordable Fare Structure: The new bus service is designed to be accessible for everyone. Fares start as low as ₹12 for shorter trips, with the maximum fare for a 30-km journey set at ₹45. Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree arrives in New York City

NEW YORK (AP) — The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree arrived in New York City on Saturday, signaling the start of the holiday season in the Big Apple. The 74-foot Norway spruce was driven into Manhattan’s Center Plaza, where it was hoisted in place by a crane. It will take 5 miles (about 8 kilometers) of light strands with more than 50,000 multicolored LED bulbs to wrap the tree, whose diameter measures 43 feet (13 meters). A Swarovski star crown sparkling with 3 million crystals will top it. The towering conifer, donated by the Albert family in West Stockbridge, Massachusetts, was cut down Thursday morning and loaded onto a flatbed truck for the 140-mile (225-kilometer) trip. It is the first Rockefeller Center Christmas tree to come from Massachusetts since 1959. It was met in New York City by smiling crowds who held cellphones aloft from behind barriers as crews attached cables to the giant tree, pounded a stake into its base and guided it into place.

Seaplane trials begin from Vijayawada to Srisailam to boost Andhra Pradesh tourism

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday launched a seaplane demo flight from Prakasam Barrage in Vijayawada to Srisailam in Nandyal district. The CM participated in the demo flight by boarding it at Punnami Ghat by Krishna river in Vijayawada. After disembarking from the flight, Naidu, who was accompanied by Union Civil Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu, was received by the district officials. Later, he took a ropeway to reach the top of a hill by Srisailam project and boarded a bus to visit Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam, where he offered prayers to the deity. “When we landed here (Srisailam) in the seaplane, I had a novel feeling. I came in 40 minutes and the runway (water) was very smooth and perfect. I landed in the midst of nature,” said Naidu, addressing a press conference in the temple town.

The airline will offer direct flights to Thiruvananthapuram, Guwahati, Kochi, and Kolkata from Ahmedabad, as per airport sources Ahmedabad to Thiruvananthapuram four times a week, with the flight departing Ahmedabad at 4:15 and landing at Thiruvananthapuram by 7:15 pm For the return journey, the flight will take off from Thiruvananthapuram at 7:35 pm and reach Ahmedabad by 9:55 pm Ahmedabad-Kochi flights will operate three times weekly
